Shouzhi was born in in 1940 in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan
province in China. In 1956 he entered the Attached Music High School
of Sichuan Conservatory and in 1959 he was granted admission to
Shenyang Conservatory. He graduated in 1963, under Mr Zhang Zimin, who
is one of the oldest pedagogues in China. He is the proffessional
teacher teaching most of the students to be succesfful in many

in the renaissance of the accordion in France, Pascal Contet has not
only constructed a new repertoire (with works by Ballif, Bussotti,
Cavanna, Drouet, Fenelon, Globokar, Rebotier among others) but breaks
through artistic boundaries , covering improvised and theatrical music
(Jean- Pierre Drouet, Andy Emler, Vinko Globokar, Jacques Rebotier)
and participating in choreographed productions (Stephanie Aubin, Jean-
Claude Gallotta, Angelin Preljocaj, Loic Touse and Emmanuelle Huyhn).
Frequently a guest of ensembles and symphony orchestras, he has played
under such great conductors as Pierre Boulez, Diego Masson, Pascal
Rophe and Philippe Nahon. |
