52^nd Trophee Mondiale di Fisarmonica, 26 to 29^th September, 2002, Belluno, Italy

Hosted by the Mayor Ermano De Col and the Council of the City of Belluno, Organised by the President of the Philharmonic Association Mr.Alberto Lucherini. And responsible for the event was the artistic director Maestro Bellus,

The Capitol city of the Dolomites, Belluno, was truly beautiful, the hospitality of the organizing team and its officers was incredible, everything was organized with true precision. Pick up from both the Airport and train station, transportation to a from student accommodation, which was up in the mountains, for the officials, Committee members, adjudicators and Delagates, Centro Congressi Giovanni XX111 was to be their home for the duration, as this was the Location for the Trophee Mondiale. The transportation was constant for the contestants, with three buses in operation day and night.

• Wednesday 25^th September, 18.00 Rendezvous of the participants at the Centro Congressi Giovanni, this was Conducted by the Organising Committee, issuing a welcome in 3 languages, and then an address by the General Secretariat Maestro Bio Boccosi, an articulate speech with many humorous moments, and then introduced the Delegates and Competitors one by one, assisted on stage by Maestro Emanuale Spantaconi, Chairman of the Combined International Jury.
• Following this welcome the contestants were transported back to their Accommodation, and a meeting of the Adjudicators, and draw for the juries took place.
• Thursday 26^th September 9.00, the first round of the Junior and Senior Trophee Mondiale categories, appearing in alphabetical order.  .
• Friday the Second round of the Junior and Senior Trophee Mondiale, followed by an evening Concert
• Saturday 9.00 it was the third round of the Junior and Senior Trophee Mondiale, and in the afternoon it was the Category Variety Virtuoso.
• On Sunday at 9.00 it was the Congress of the CMA, to ratify the results and discuss future policies, setting a date and place of the 53^rd Trophee Mondiale, this was followed by the results, at the splendid Communal Auditorium, presented by the Mayor of Belluno and presentation of the Diplomas, to both the Delegates, the Jury Members and the Competitors, each person was given a little piece of the Dolomites which was adorned with flowers, and a brass plaque with details of the event, together with books presented by Belluno.  Also the taking of hand impressions of Hermi Kaleta of Austria, and Gina Brannelli of the UK to be placed in the museum, the Curator of the museum was present, speaking for myself this was indeed a great honor.
• Following this sensational Morning, we waited in true Italian style in the splendid Piazza, chatting with friends we had made during the event, we were then taken by Coach to the beautiful Hotel Villa Carpenada, way up in the mountains for a 4 hour lunch, it was very special with all the competitors enjoying themselves, wine was overflowing, and hospitality beyond words.  The atmosphere was brilliant.
• The evening concert was to be something so special, organized meticulously, the Opening performance of the Fisorchestra ‘G.Rossini’ directed by Maestro Ernesto Bellus was simply splendid, perfect music in a glorious setting. Following this was the presentation of the Trophies led by Maestro Bio Boccosi, and the performances of the first 3 candidates in each section.  The performances were outstanding, each one proud to take the stage.
• I will never forget the 52^nd Trophee Mondiale in the magnificent City of Belluno, thank you to all for such a marvelous event.

• The contestants said their goodbyes at the Luncheon, but still they were saying goodbye well into the night, hopefully renewing their friendship at the next Tropee Mondiale
